Good & Murray Smith (End of 2018)

Good & Murray Smith is a specialist litigation firm established in 1895. They handle civil disputes of all varieties, with a particular focus on contentious Insurance disputes, personal injury law and defence litigation.
This project involved the interior fit-out of the 4th and 5th floors of an existing occupied office building in the City Centre.

  • We completed works which involved the following:

  • Installations of cellular offices and store room
  • Installation of new office and meeting room
  • Constructing partitions and glazed screens
  • Install new electrical systems and services including; lighting/ emergency lighting/ fire detection / alarm / IT and data

    Completed works for Charities

    Clúid Housing Association (Jan 2019 – March 2019)

     

    Based on Sheriff Street Upper, Dublin 1.

     

    Clúid aims to achieve its vision by providing quality housing and services to enable people to create homes and thriving communities. We completed works for Clúid that included the following:

     

  • Modification to existing fit-out of office building including
  • Installation of walls, doors, fitted furniture and a shower.
  • In addition to modification of desk spaces, and existing fitted furniture.
  • Including all associated electrical, fire alarm and data-communications service.

    Energy Action Ireland (End of 2018)
    Energy Action was established in 1988 as Ireland’s first community-based energy project to address the problem of fuel poverty in Dublin. For a quarter of a century, Energy Action has been working towards alleviating fuel poverty by providing free insulation in the homes of older people and the disadvantaged. Their mission statement is “To provide quality Home Insulation services for older people and low-income families. To provide training and employment opportunities for the long-term unemployed”.


    We completed office fit-out works for their headquarters in Citylink Business Park, Dublin 12. Works included the following:

  • Soft demolition

  • Install new air conditioning units

    Distilled SCH - Digital media sales agency

    Ongoing works completed for Distilled Sch, whom we have worked with for over ten years. We have recently completed a refurbishment on their second floor. All which was completed within a month.

     

     

     

    Top of the polls! - Red C

     

    Red C is Ireland’s premier provider of research-based consultancy solutions. Founded in 2003, they provide high quality research-based consultancy services to both blue chip and up and coming businesses across Ireland, the UK and Worldwide. Based in East Point Business Park, we completed an office refurbishment to a high standard. As you can see from the photos, the area is modern and up to date with current office aesthetic.

     

     

     

    Gotham Café

     

    Gotham Café is where you can enjoy casual dining in a relaxed environment. Gotham Café opened in 1993, making 2018 their 25th year. Based on South Anne Street, the complete refurbishment took just 1 week.

     

     

    Public Service Contracts

    H.S.E. Drogheda
    The HSE provides all of Ireland’s public health services in hospitals and communities across the country. TQM completed a full office refurbishment on over 10,000 sq. ft. for the HSE office based in Drogheda.

     

    Dublin Port Authority
    TQM completed an accommodation fit out for the Port Authority. Features included smart glass installation.

     

    Tusla
    The child and family agency was set up in 2014 and is now the dedicated State agency responsible for improving wellbeing and outcomes for children. It represents the most comprehensive reform of child protection, early intervention and family support services ever undertaken in Ireland. TQM have secured a full office fit-out with a Tusla office located in Drogheda.    

     

    Lights, Camera, Action!

    The Abbey Theatre, also known as the National Theatre of Ireland, in Dublin, is one of the country’s leading cultural institutions. First opening to the public on 27 December 1904, and despite losing its original building to a fire in 1951, it has remained active to the present day. Since July 1966, the Abbey has been located at 26 Lower Abbey Street, Dublin 1.
    Here we have a project, which required us to create a homely atmosphere for staff, audiences, artists, tourists, local business communities and creative teams.

     


     

    The project consisted of electrical work, flooring, decoration, alterations and creating banquet seats. The project had to complement the Abbey Theatre and its surroundings. The project was completed on time and with-in budget.


    The Peacock Café opened to the public in early October 2015 with seating capacity for 40 people. The vision for the Peacock Café was that it would become an attractive destination in its own right and become an integral part of the Abbey Theatre’s visitor experience.  According to the below quotes, the brief was fully met.


    According to visitdublin.com, the peacock café is “a vibrant, open and energetic space that embodies the spirit of the Abbey, a world-renowned theatre, the Peacock Café celebrates Irish food in a modern and contemporary way”.


    According to dineindublin.ie, “the Peacock Café provides an engaging and homey atmosphere that makes you want to sit down and order some tea, while you talk to the person next to you”.

    Our IT Alliance, Parkwest project was selected as a Finalist in the 2013 Irish Fit-out awards in the ‘best small office’ category held at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, to add to selection in the same category in 2012 for our Ocuco project.  Always the bridesmaid...

    We have just completed an office fit-out for Euroflex packaging in picturesque Gaoth Dobhair, in the Gaeltachta area of county Donegal where the TQM team have been brushing up on their Irish. 

     

    Return on Ideas


    We have just completed a fit-out for MML Capital Partners on the 4th floor of Huguenot House on St. Stephens Green.  Oliver Held of Jones Lang Lasalle was the project manager.  Finishes included double glazed frameless partitions, fabric wall panels and Jura Limestone floors. 

     

     

     

    Allianz Worldwide Care

    We have just been appointed as  Main Contractor to fit-out 6 further floors of office space for Allianz World Wide Care to add to the 2 we have already been awarded in Parkwest, Dublin, bringing the overall project size to 40,000 sq.ft. to be completed by September 2014. This continues our relationship with Allianz, with whom we have worked for a number of years.

     

     

     

    Assigned Certifier

    The Building Control Amendment Regulations 2013 are due to come into law from the 1st March 2014. Current legislation governing building control in Ireland dates back to the Building Control Act, 1990. This applies to new buildings, extensions, material alterations and changes of use of buildings in commercial and residential property. The Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2013 (the "Regulations") are to be read in conjunction with existing Building Control legislation. The main documents covering the new regime are SI No 80 of 2013 - Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and the new Code of Practice for Inspecting and Certifying Building Works.

     

    This new legislation will have a very significant effect on the way building design and construction is managed and implemented. It will allow competent professionals greater control of inspection and provide a chain of responsibility throughout the design and construction process.  There will be a direct impact on professionals, including engineers, architects and building surveyors as well as relevant members of the professional design team, together with owners, builders and building control authorities.

     

    NEW REQUIREMENTS

    The new Regulations include new responsibilities which include new commencement notice requirements, new certificates of undertaking and compliance, new responsibilities for designers and a new role for an Assigned Certifier, new penalties and new forms for appointment ("notices of assignment") for competent Designers, Assigned Certifiers and Builders.


    The new roles and responsibilities are set out in the new Code of Practice for Inspecting and Certifying Building Works.

     

    Under the new Regulations, the Building Owner is ultimately responsible to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and must appoint competent Designers, the Builder and the A ssigned Certifier
